First ten-foot caisson of Season 9, named The Fellowship 1 and sunk at borehole D-2 by Irving Equipment and ROC Equipment. It passed through broken timbers and a 1908 to 1909 rubber boot, placing it in the 1909 Roosevelt shaft, and stopped on bedrock at 152 ft. Spoils yielded iron with trace gold and a possible wrapping for explosives.
