Dug 1940 to 1942 by Edwin Hamilton, 170 ft
Numbered as its own shaft (No. 23) by R.V. Harris and Golder. Deepened from 124.5 to about 170 ft (Golder's text says about 165); two tunnels from the Chappell Shaft met at 155 ft; holes drilled from its bottom to about 190 ft did not reach bedrock. Cribbing reported sound in 1965; the 1970 pumping test suggested it was still open to water.
No public source gives this hole's position.
Rows are in depth order; the column on the left is the hole, and a figure between rows is the stretch with nothing logged. Depths as reported by each source.
