Dug 1909 by Old Gold Salvage and Wrecking Company, 107 ft
Shaft dug in 1909 by the Old Gold Salvage and Wrecking Company, backed by Franklin Delano Roosevelt, to about 100 ft before cave-ins and flooding. A letter from Duncan Harris states the pit was cleared to 107 ft, where a platform blocked the bottom, and explosives were set off in it in fall 1909. Caisson TF1 cut through its remains in Season 9.
