About This Structure
A large boulder discovered at a site in the northern swamp identified by researcher John Edwards as corresponding to the Tiferet position on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Edwards, who had spent over 30 years studying Templar-era symbols and icons, proposed extending the geometry of Nolan's Cross into a full Tree of Life diagram, with each sephirah (node) corresponding to a physical location on the island. The Tiferet position, representing beauty and balance at the center of the Tree, fell in the northern swamp near the cobblestone pathway.
During Season 11, Jack Begley, Gary Drayton, and Billy Gerhardt excavated the Tiferet site and found the area extremely rocky. The boulder was resting above C horizon rather than sitting naturally within it, which suggested deliberate placement as a marker. Rick Lagina, Marty Lagina, and Dr. Ian Spooner were called in for evaluation. When Billy rolled the boulder, Spooner found a stick trapped between it and the sediment, evidence that the stone had been moved at some point, along with a piece of cut wood that he collected for carbon-14 dating. Deeper excavation revealed chopped timbers, tree stumps, and a rock-lined formation beneath the boulder.
The find carried weight in the context of Professor Adriano Gaspani's archaeoastronomical research, which dated the placement of Nolan's Cross boulders to approximately 1200 AD based on stellar alignments with Capella, Arcturus, Antares, Bellatrix, Alphard, and Fomalhaut. If the Tiferet boulder was part of the same construction program as Nolan's Cross, it would extend the known geometry of the formation and reinforce Edwards' theory that the entire Tree of Life was physically laid out across the island as a coded map to the treasure.
