The Interactive Oak Island Map is a visual reference maintained by the Chester Municipal Heritage Society as part of its online research material. The map displays the geography of the island and marks the principal sites of treasure-hunting activity, archaeological features, and historic landmarks.
Marked features include the Money Pit and the various shafts driven through and around it across the search history; Smith's Cove and the structures encountered there (the box drains, the U-shaped and L-shaped structures, the slipway, and the cofferdam); the Cave-In Pit; the 10X shaft; the Stone Triangle; Nolan's Cross; the swamp and its features; the well at Lot 18; Joudrey's Cove; the location of the Inscribed Stone discovery; the various drilling sites of the Triton and Lagina periods; and the historic foundations and structures associated with the early-twentieth-century treasure companies.

Why it matters
For research questions involving the spatial relationships between the various sites of treasure-hunting activity, the map is the necessary visual reference. Many features of the Oak Island documentary record are best understood in spatial context, including the relationships between the Money Pit and Smith's Cove (as the basis for flood-tunnel theories), between the Money Pit and the Stone Triangle (as the basis for cipher and surveying theories), and between the various shafts driven through and around the Money Pit across the search history.
